Payment Terms and Applicable Fees:
Course Fees:
- APV "Ambition" Package: Fees must be paid in full for the entire semester at the start of each semester.
- APV "Progression" Package: Fees must be paid in full for the entire month at the beginning of each month.
- APV "Pleasure" Package: Fees must be paid in full before the beginning of each class.
Payment Methods:
Accepted methods include e-transfer, debit card, credit card, or cash. E-transfer is preferred for its convenience and ease of tracking.
Administrative Fees:
- APV "Progression" Package: A $5 administrative fee will be charged for payments made after the 15th of the month.
- APV "Pleasure" Package: Weekly payments incur a $3 administrative fee per lesson.
Attendance and Cancellation Policy:
Cancellation notice :
Students must provide written notice by e-mail of at least 24 business hours to cancel or reschedule a lesson. Notice time is calculated based on the academy’s official office hours; time outside of office hours is not considered. Cancellations or rescheduling requests made with less than 24 business hours’ notice will be charged in full.
Make-Up Lessons and Rescheduling:
Make-up lessons and rescheduling are offered solely at the discretion of the academy and are subject to the teacher’s availability and agreement. Make-up lessons are provided as a courtesy and are not guaranteed. Please note that make-up lessons cannot themselves be rescheduled. If the student misses a scheduled make-up lesson, the lesson will be charged in full, even if notice is provided in advance.
Absence Limits:
Students may have up to two (2) absences per session without needing a medical certificate. Our academic year is divided into four sessions:
- September – December
- January – March
- April – June
- June/July – August
Absences beyond this limit or without a valid medical certificate will be considered missed lessons and will not be refunded. Additionally, exceeding the limit of authorized absences will result in losing the spot of class..
Refunds and Credits:
Refunds are not available for missed lessons unless they fall within the allowed absence limit or are supported by a valid medical certificate. Payments for allowed absences will be converted into credits for future lessons.
Failure to Notify:
Failure to provide the required 24-hour notice may result in the lesson being considered missed, with no option for refund or rescheduling.
APV “Ambition” Package:
This package does not permit cancellations or modifications,even with more than 24-hour notice. Any cancellation or modification will result in the forfeiture of complimentary lessons at the end of the session.
Teacher Absence:
Substitute or Rescheduling:
If a teacher is absent, the academy will either arrange for a qualified substitute or reschedule the lesson to a mutually agreed-upon date and time.
Make-Up Lessons:
Eligibility:
Make-up lessons may be provided for missed lessons due to teacher absence or unforeseen circumstances.
Scheduling:
Make-up lessons will be scheduled based on the availability of both the student and the teacher, at the academy’s discretion.
Termination and Refunds:
Termination of Enrollment:
Students may terminate their enrollment by providing written notice within a reasonable period.
Refunds and Credits:
No refunds will be issued for prepaid classes that are not attended. Payments made will be converted into credits for future lessons.
Waiting Time Before and After Lessons:
Waiting Area:
Students and parents are requested to use the designated waiting area. Due to limited space, parents should drop off their children at the start of their lessons and pick them up promptly afterward. Parents may stay in the classroom during the lesson if the teacher agrees.
Pick-Up Time:
Children should be picked up within 10 minutes after their lessons end. If parents are running late, they should notify the academy staff immediately. For safety reasons, children should not wait outside, as the academy cannot supervise them outside lesson times.
Exhibition Area:
Children should not linger in the exhibition area or remain in the studios outside their scheduled lesson times.
Concert Etiquette:
Arrival of Performers
Performers should arrive 15 minutes before the concert starts to find their assigned seats and prepare.
Audience Arrival:
Families and friends should arrive 5 minutes before the concert begins to ensure a smooth start.
Young Children:
Parents are advised not to bring children under 3 years old, as they may disrupt the performance and disturb other audience members. Families with young children should sit in the last two rows and ensure minimal noise and distraction.
Restroom Use:
Young students should use the restroom before the concert. If a restroom visit is necessary during the performance, students should wait for a change in performers on stage to minimize interruptions.
Audience Conduct:
Attendees should set their phones to silent mode and refrain from talking or engaging in noisy activities, such as playing with program booklets, during the performance.
Dress Code:
Performing artists should dress appropriately for public performances to maintain concert etiquette and respect the audience.
Photography/Videography:
Usage of Media:
Piano Vertu Academy reserves the right to use any photos or videos taken on our premises for promotional purposes, including marketing materials and social media.
Consent:
By enrolling at Piano Vertu Academy, parents and students consent to the use of their photos and videos for promotional purposes.
Opt-Out:
If a parent does not want their child's photo or video to be used, they should contact the administration office via email.
Modifications and Amendments:
Policy Changes:
The academy may change or update the policies or regulations outlined above as needed.
Notification:
Students will be notified in advance of any changes to ensure they are aware of the updated policies.
