W.Hoffmann Vision V 8 upright: an affordable concert piano

The W.Hoffmann piano brand already existed in Berlin in the early 20th century and was taken over by C. Bechstein in 1992.

Today, the W.Hoffmann instruments are made by C. Bechstein Europe at its Czech production site and the Vision series echoes the great piano brand’s tradition. The W.Hoffmann Vision V 8 concert piano, also called “pianoforte” in the past, will impress you with its noble look, powerful sound, fine nuances and elegant classic case design. Don’t compromise on the brand of your piano! C. Bechstein Europe makes top-quality instruments.

Valuable components and quality manufacturing

Despite its affordable price, the V 8 concert piano boasts a wealth of quality details: all strings, for example, are held in place by agraffes in order to improve the sound precision and purity; moreover, this piano comes with three pedals, including a moderator. According to the German C. Bechstein manufacturing tradition, all affordable pianos within the Vision series are voiced manually “by hand and ear”.

A concert piano that speaks for itself

Experienced piano makers at the C. Bechstein Europe production site determine and test all components of the V 8 pianoforte and perform all quality assurance procedures. Like other instruments within the Vision series, this model boasts a back frame made of medium-hard solid wood. The soundboard and its ribs are made of spruce, the bridges and the pin block of hard wood. The other quality features include the hammerheads, which are covered with English felt and voiced “by hand and ear”. Nonetheless, the V 8 upright remains affordable! C. Bechstein Europe offers a five-year warranty for this piano of lasting quality made in Hradec Králové, Czech Republic.

Its grand-style music stand, which is large enough for oversized books and sheet music (and places the music at eye level), is popular with students and professional players alike. The exclusive Kawai Millennium III Upright Action is regarded as one of the world's finest vertical actions, helping the K-400 upright to deliver exceptional control, responsiveness and consistency over many years of performance. The solid spruce top is strategically tapered to maximize the K-400's sound-producing capacity. In terms of style and function, the K-400 upright piano is an instrument that stands out from the crowd. The K-400 is part of the K series upright piano range.

The music stand of a grand piano

The uniquely practical 122 cm K-400 features a grand piano-style music stand that puts music at eye level and provides a solid surface for scores and large music books. The two-part hinged lid adds to its distinctive appeal.

Millennium III Upright Action

The Millennium III Upright's action features components made from ABS-Carbon, a composite material created by infusing carbon fiber into our famous ABS Styran. ABS-Carbon is incredibly strong and rigid, enabling the creation of lighter action parts without compromising strength. The result is a more powerful, faster action offering greater control and stability than conventional all-wood actions.

Extended Key Length

Longer keys make the game easier to play and offer a more uniform response from the front to the back of the playing surface. The benefits for the player are better control and more power with less effort.

Tone

Solid spruce conical soundboard

The soundboard is the heart of a piano. Its role is to transform the vibrations of the piano strings into a rich, resonant sound. Kawai uses only solid quarter-grain spruce for the K series soundboards. Each soundboard is strategically tapered to maximize its tonal capacity. Only those that meet or exceed our strict quality standards are selected for use in our professional upright pianos.

The hammers

Mahogany wood core and double felt hammers secured with T-shaped staples.

Mahogany hammerblocks are lightweight and extremely responsive. Found only on the finest pianos, mahogany is used for the hammer moldings on the entire range of K-Series professional upright pianos. All K-Series hammers are stapled in a T-shape to preserve their shape, and feature an additional inner layer of felt to support the creation of exceptional sound.

What happens when the "golden section" principle is transferred to a piano? This produces well-proportioned models like the C 126 Tradition. In art and architecture, the golden section is often regarded as the ideal proportions between certain combinations of lengths, and is also considered the quintessence of aesthetics and harmony. Seen from this angle, this model certainly meets all the criteria.
