The mechanics of the NV10S
The Millennium III grand piano action, which now equips the instruments in Kawai's GX series, exemplifies Koichi's philosophy.
This highly sought-after action incorporates components made from ABS carbon, an extremely durable and rigid composite material that enables these mechanical parts to be stronger, lighter, and faster than their conventional wooden counterparts.
Furthermore, Kawai's GX series grand pianos also employ longer key sticks, enabling better control and a more consistent response from the front to the back of the playing surface.

A naturally expressive sound
To digitally reproduce the stunning sonic qualities of the Shigeru Kawai concert grand piano, the Novus NV10S incorporates Kawai's latest SK-EX rendering technology.
This advanced piano sound engine combines the well-established process of sampling with a modern approach to physical modeling, producing a piano sound that is both rich in natural acoustic characteristics and dynamically responsive to the musician's musical expressions.
Advanced speaker system
This high-fidelity sound is delivered by the powerful 7-speaker output system of the NV10S, which includes a large 20 cm woofer enclosed in the instrument's base, four premium-quality mid-range speakers facing upwards, and two tweeters positioned behind the upper panel. The result is a remarkably authentic playing experience that immerses the performer and faithfully reproduces the three-dimensional sound field of an acoustic grand piano.

The technical characteristics of the NV10S
These functions are primarily controlled by the NV10's LCD touchscreen, discreetly integrated into the left cheekblock of the instrument. This high-resolution touchscreen allows for adjusting sounds and settings through an attractive user interface, simply by tapping or swiping the screen with a finger.
For piano purists, the screen can be set to automatically fade away during play, preserving the classic appearance of the Novus and minimizing any visual distraction for the performer.
Unlike an acoustic piano, the Novus NV10S offers numerous connectivity options to other devices. The headphone and audio jacks enable playing the instrument in silence or amplifying the sound for larger rooms and other spaces, while the USB and MIDI ports allow for the transfer of musical data to and from a computer.
The NV10S also supports Bluetooth® audio and MIDI functionality, allowing for effortless wireless connectivity and use of smart devices.
